Wings of Freedom
"Though the fear of the unknown grips my heart, I must not cower but spread these strong, mighty wings of mine"

The sky that pours light,
Under it I stand with my two feet,
Holding onto my broken wings that yearn to fly,
Towards that higher place where the sun forever shines,
The invisible fog that surrounds me and hinders my sight,
Beyond its mist I must move forward; I must not retreat,
Though the fear of the unknown grips my heart and paralyzes my soul I must try,
To not blindly cower away but to spread these strong, mighty wings of mine,
Dreams of a brighter tomorrow that overcomes the darkness of the night,
Such vivid dreams the broken heart longs to embrace in a beat,
For now, in the dark, I remain helpless, caged and tied,
But once these wings are freed, no longer will I remain confined,
On that fateful day I shall rise above the ashes to explore the new world with every right,
With this new-found freedom, the mission to live life purposefully will be complete,
The gift of freedom, is the sense of will and identity, can no body dare to deny,
Across the wide sky,
I shall fly splendidly,
as if it was meant to be,
as if the stars had aligned.
